Dr Haydn Sharratt
BVSc Certs SAS (UK) MRCVS
After growing up on the family wool and beef farm in Harrismith, South Africa, Haydn completed his studies in 1994.
Down to his last pounds after a Kontiki tour through Europe, he found his first job in the hills of North Wales, thrown into the deep end during the emergence of the ‘mad cow disease’ crisis.
It was during this time that his interest in Small Animal Surgery developed, which entailed a move to London and a period of 3 years of post-graduate study in Orthopaedics and Soft Tissue Surgery through the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons.
A chance meeting with Dr Peter Gardner in West London ended in him purchasing his Practice, where he continued his focus on Small Animal Surgery, being one of the first Surgeons in Europe to become registered to perform Slocum’s patented TPLO surgery for cruciate ligament rupture in Munich in 1999.
Arriving with his family in Melbourne in 2014, he has worked at a number of Practices around Melbourne while looking for suitable premises in which to develop his next Practice.
